Mile High Papua New Guinea coffee is cultivated in the Eastern Highlands near the town of Kainantu, where coffee production is central to the livelihood of nearly 12,000 residents. Many of these smallholder farms operate at elevations around 1,600 meters above sea level, producing modest but high-quality yields. The Arokara Cooperative plays a key role in the region, partnering with growers who prioritize chemical-free farming practices and continuously refine their processing methods to improve quality and sustainability.
The beans are processed using a washed method, where the coffee cherries are carefully de-pulped and undergo minimal fermentation. This approach enhances clarity in the cup, removing overly heavy sweetness and allowing the natural characteristics of the coffee to shine through with remarkable consistency and cleanliness.
In the cup, Mile High Papua New Guinea delivers a bright, lively acidity balanced by a smooth, creamy body. Flavor notes of berries, caramel, and malt are complemented by a refreshing citrus finish, creating a well-rounded and vibrant coffee experience.”
